NFL Betting – Vikings Could Be Without “Williams Wall” For Start Of 2010

NFL betting players know that as long as Pat and Kevin Williams are lining up on the defensive line for Minnesota, the Vikings will be one of the best run-stopping teams in the league. But a court ruling has put their status for the upcoming season in jeopardy.

The Williamses (who aren't related) appealed the 2008 ruling that said they took steroids, saying that they had no idea that the weight-loss supplement they were taking had an illegal substance in it. Their suspension was put off all season as they helped the Vikings to the NFC championship game, where they lost to New Orleans, and now a judge has said that the Williamses could be suspended for the first four games of the season. However, that's not likely as the case still has to be further reviewed by a judge and that may not happen until November, meaning that both players will be allowed to play.

The Williams are the heart of a Minnesota unit that was second in the league in run defense, and between the two of them, they can pretty much take up an entire offensive line, which leaves Jared Allen with one-on-one coverage on his side of the line. The Vikings are still waiting on the Brett Favre saga to be resolved, meaning that the defense will be even more important, and the Williamses are a huge (no pun intended) part of that defense.
