The sports betting sites are getting a lot of football action as the playoff stretch begins. Some teams seem to have their playoff destiny firmly in hand, while others still need to prove something to themselves and the rest of the league. There will be some good games to watch this weekend with interesting story lines to follow.
Atlanta Falcons (-3) @ Houston Texans
The Texans just cannot catch a break. The season that Houston builds a winning team is the same season that both the first and second-string quarterbacks go down for the season. Veteran Jake Delhomme was signed this week, but it will be rookie T.J. Yates starting this game for the Texans. The price per head sports fans in Houston can only hold their collective breath and hope that Houston still makes the playoffs.
Pick: Atlanta Falcons
New York Jets (-3) @ Washington Redskins
The NFL scores have not been going the way of the New York Jets this season and it is making animated coach Rex Ryan even more animated. If the Jets thought they felt the full brunt of Ryan’s anger, wait until this game is over.
Pick: Washington Redskins
Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3)
These are two young teams heading in opposite directions. The Panthers’ defense is starting to play well and rookie quarterback Cam Newton is still keeping Carolina in games. Meanwhile, Bucs’ quarterback Josh Freeman just cannot seem to get things going in Tampa Bay.
Pick: Carolina Panthers
